Enthought AVA Analysis

Enthought's simulation and risking software provides a highly interactive environment for non-specialist users to research drilling prospects. Its extensible framework allows expert users to define new geologic models and algorithms, so that the software grows and evolves along with user' theoretical understanding.

Graphical Lithology Models

The application lets you build a lithology model graphically by dragging layers onto a column. Layers represent sets of rock properties that become the properties of a depth range assigned to the layer in the column. Logs for layers can come from imported well logs, or can be generated programmatically. Rock properties can be defined as constants, variable distributions, logs, or even the result of a function. A number of layer templates are predefined. New layer templates can be created by writing scripts in the Python language.

Stochastic Simulation of Seismic Attributes

The software uses a Monte Carlo algorithm to generate realizations whose values fit the distributions specified for the model's variable distribution properties. Users can then statistically analyze the geophysical attributes for various possible cases.
